The Big Cookie Bake!

As many of you know, I recently had an online bake sale to raise money for the victims of the famine in East Africa.  I offered chocolate chip, peanut butter, double chocolate, and oatmeal spice cookies.  I opened up the bake sale to a few people, thinking I would sell a few dozen cookies throughout the week.  I had no idea the kind of response I would get.

By the end of the week, I had orders for 44 dozen cookies.  That’s 528 cookies!!!!  I couldn’t believe it.  I still can’t believe it.  I was so touched by how many people wanted to help make a difference, and enjoy a cookie or two!  My husband and sister worked tirelessly to get the word out to their friends and co-workers, and the response was phenomenal!  I mean, 44 dozen cookies. That’s just crazy!!

As the orders kept flying in, I started to feel a bit apprehensive about baking so many cookies.  I decided to make one day my cookie baking day.  So, I set out to bake and package 528 cookies in just one day.  It took about 13 hours to do, but I was so happy doing it.  Anytime I got tired, I would think about how many families could benefit from all those donations, and my task would suddenly seem so much easier.  I received so many encouraging words from my friends, family, and so many of you, my dear readers.  Thank you so much.

Many of you asked to see pictures of the cookie bake, so here they are!  A step-by-step look at my big cookie bake.
