The Great American Bake Sale

I interrupt our regular food-focused conversation to bring you a post of a different kind…

Let’s talk childhood hunger. It’s a problem. Here, in the United States. New numbers indicate that 1 in 4 children in America don’t have enough food to eat every single day. Around 1 million more kids are living in poverty this year than last year. Dedicated, hard-working families are struggling to feed their children. {For more information on childhood hunger in America, check out Food Network’s documentary “Hunger Hits Home.”}

Thankfully, there’s a solution we can all be a part of! Every year, Share Our Strength organizes bakers from across the country to raise money for The Great American Bake Sale. Since 2003, more than 1 million people have participated in GABS, and have raised over $8 million!

I’ve organized a fundraiser to raise money for this year’s Great American Bake Sale. And you can be a part of it! Just click on the link below which will take you directly to my fundraiser page. Remember, every single dollar raised will go directly towards helping end childhood hunger in America. And if that isn’t enough…

Every person who makes a donation will automatically be entered to win a dozen (12) of my blogger friend Lauren’s Black and White Blondies from her new dessert company Keep It Sweet Desserts! {On a side note, Lauren is one of the sweetest people I know in the blogging community, and her desserts are amazing, so make sure and check out her awesome blog!}

To enter the raffle, simply click below to make your donation, then come back here and leave me a comment letting me know you’ve donated!

Thanks in advance for your generosity, and for making a difference.
